Health programmes in India

Being a worker specially for community health worker is very important that we should be aware of the programs which we are going to implement. in the chapter we are going to discuss various welfare programs launched by government of India from time to time and specially for our exam point of view.
In today's class we are going to to clear our concepts regarding National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme under this program we have covered 3 main programs which were launched previously and later own they were included in in National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme so dear students you can see e that in exam three separate programmes can appear in the question paper and you have to write. For example you may get a short note or a question regarding National Malaria Control Programme National Malaria eradication programme National Filaria Control Programme for dengue control program separately humidity question on national Vector Borne diseases Control
If the question arises on National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme then you have to specify about all the programs which are under National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme but you have to write few main points only about these programs but it's separate questions Up Question appear then you have to write in detail and you should keep in mind that while writing the answer you should at least touch Four Points

2 when it was launched 
3 what were the objectives of this program and
4 what are the main activities of the program
Let us discuss these programs one by one
National Malaria Control Programme
National Malaria Control Programme was launched in India in April 1953 . The program was highly successful in reducing the cases of malaria due to this success in in 1958 Government of India converted this program to National Malaria eradication program. Meaning of objectives of this program was to prevent deaths due to my area and to reduce Malaria cases.
The main activities under this program was to detect cases and to provide early treatment . the detection of malaria cases which is known as Malaria surveillance is of  two types . 
1. active surveillance 
2. passive surveillance 
in active surveillance Malaria workers use to go house to house end collect information about fever and collect blood slides for detection of malaria they also so used to distribute antimalarial drugs to the positive cases as well as for profylaxis .
Passive surveillance Rakesh detected OPD basis at PHC sub centres for other hospitals.
1999 the Government of India decided to to change the name of this program as national anti Malaria programme.
